For a little while there, it felt like 2020/21 would never end. Yet here we are starting to dream of hosting friends and family for Christmas. After such a strange time, we’re feeling the urge more than ever to create simple but beautiful festive moments, spent with our favourite people, soaking up all the things we have to be grateful for.
To help you do the same, we teamed up with the fabulously talented Lara from Honey Lane Event Planning & Design to create a Christmas look for each of our signature tablecloth prints. It was such a treat, and the results were spectacular.
Here we break down each of the looks and show you how to create a little magic with your table styling this Christmas.
This look is light, bright and oh so fresh. Using our Palm Mustard tablecloth, Lara created a white and gold wonderland that had us all saying, “Pass the champagne.”
But as Lara explains, this is a deceptively easy look to create at home. “When you break it down, this is quite a minimalistic Christmas tablescape that uses classic pieces that most people already own. There are no florals, the crockery is white and the glassware is traditional and clear.”
The key to nailing this look? “Gold cutlery,” says Lara. “It was once a rare find, but now it’s readily available and worth investing in – it really makes the look.”

Tip: to create that extra-luxe dining experience at home, add a white charger plate under the main dinner plate.
If minimal isn’t your thing, fear not – the Aster Teal Christmas look is just what Santa ordered. When dreaming up this lusciously vibrant look, Lara had just one thought in her mind: More is more!
“After being so restricted, we felt like letting loose on this look. We filled the table with greenery, candles and a beautiful vibrant platter to really bring it to life,” she explains.
The key to achieving this look is layering. “For the place settings, we layered the entrée plate on top of the dinner plate, and placed an Aster Teal napkin in between them. We finished it off with a menu and silver cutlery layered on top.”
Pops of contrasting colour are hallmarks of this look. “We’re so lucky with all the fresh produce we have available in Australia at this time of year,” says Lara. “We wanted to celebrate that with this look, and the cut fruit makes an easy but eye-catching addition.”

Hands up who thinks the traditional Christmas colour palette could do with a shake-up? We know pink is rarely associated with Christmas, but you know what? We really think it works!
“This look proves that Christmas doesn’t have to be red and green,” says Lara. “After styling the table with the Terrazzo Blush tablecloth and napkins, we fell in love!”
Lara says this look came together quite easily. “We used some simple florals and gorgeous soft pink and peach Christmas tree decorations,” she says. “We did use copper cutlery and pink glasses, but the table would look just as gorgeous with simple silver cutlery and delicate glass tumblers.”
The finishing touch on this look? The reindeer! They seem to be in every store this year, and they’re a cute but affordable addition.

She’s moody, sophisticated and just a little bit dramatic. When our Flora Bluewater Christmas look came together, there was a collective intake of breath.
Lara had late afternoon Christmas vibes in mind when creating this tablescape. “We complemented the smoky blue tones of the Flora Bluewater tablecloth with dark double plates, gold cutlery and a mix of different candle styles,” she explains.
This look is a show-stopper and will have everyone talking for days.
